Disha is a 17 year old from Buckinghamshire who set up The Mentoring Scheme to support students who are navigating through GCSEs and their steps beyond. After finding that many young people felt they had not been given adequate support on post-GCSE options which has only been exacerbated by Covid-19 and school closures, she decided to set up TMS in order to ensure that all students are able to access targeted support to help them embark on their next steps.
She is determined to reach out to students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds, which is why The Mentoring Scheme is, and always will be, absolutely free of charge.
Disha is very passionate about youth voice and empowerment, from her extensive work on projects and campaigns with charities such as the British Youth Council, Girlguiding and Worldvision. She is also on the Bank of England Youth Forum, and was even a judge at the Children and Young People Now Awards 2019.
